Diffuse glass

Diffuse glass scatters direct incoming sunlight in multiple directions. This results in the light being more evenly distributed over the leaves, leading to higher crop yields.

Glass can be made diffuse by chemically etching it or by adding a pattern. Pattern glass is also known as structured glass, hammered glass, or ornamental glass.

The degree of light distribution by diffuse glass is referred to as „hortiscatter“ or „haze.“ Both etched diffuse glass and diffuse pattern glass are available in various degrees of light scattering.

An anti-reflective coating can be applied to both types of diffuse glass. This coating reduces the reflection of sunlight, resulting in higher light transmission.
