Low iron glass

Low iron glass is float glass with a low iron content, providing greater clarity and higher light transmission than standard float glass. Low iron glass is widely used in horticulture, as more light leads to higher crop yields.

In the horticultural industry, glass is considered low iron when the light transmission in the visible spectrum is 91% (NEN 2675) or more. Besides high light transmission in the visible spectrum, low iron glass also has high UV light transmission.

Through an anti-reflective treatment, the light transmission of low iron glass can be further increased.
